ANDREA ZOPPOLI

Andrea Zoppoli is PhD Candidate in Fusion Science and Engineering, PhD program jointly run by University of Padua and University of Naples Federico II (UNINA). He is playing a primary role in the design, procurement, integration and management of the systems of the DTT Remote Handling (RH) Facility, an innovative robotic laboratory to be built at University of Naples to test RH procedures and equipment for fusion devices and train teleoperators. He has led the preparation of the technical – economic feasibility project representing the technical documentation for the call for tender of the Mockups system. He is now focused on the technical follow-up of the procurements for the executive design and realization of the DTT RH Facility systems, as well as on their integration. His research interests include design and engineering methods for fusion devices, mechatronics, kinematic simulations of robots in CAD environment, Finite Element structural simulations, simulation-based design, systems engineering and MBSE, CAD system management and PLM, cloud-Based design and manufacturing, digital twin, digital factory. He is first author of 1 journal paper and co-author of 6 conference papers/book chapters.  He is co-recipient of the Fusion Engineering and Design Student Award 2023 for the best poster contribution at "International Symposium on Fusion Nuclear Technologies" (ISFNT-15) conference.
