Academic position

Doctor degree and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering in '94 and in '98, respectively, both at University of Naples, IT.
From 1999 to 2005 Teaching Professor in the area of Mechanical Drawing and CAD both at University of Naples and the Second University of Naples.
Since Oct 2005 Associate Professor at the University of Molise (IT), working on Design and Methods of Industrial Engineering.

Teaching

  • From 2000 to 2006 and from 2010 to 2013, teaching professor at the Second University of Naples (SUN), Faculty of Engineering, in the courses of Industrial/Mechanical Drawing and Computer-aided Design.
  • From 2004 to 2010 teaching professor in Tolerance Design at the University of Naples.
  • From 1999 to 2005 Teaching Assistant at the University of Naples in the courses of Computer-aided Design, Principles and Methods od Industrial Engineering, Techinical Drawing, Mechanism and Machine Design.
  • From 2005 to 2009, at the Faculty of Agricultural Engineering (University of Molise), teaching professor in the courses of Machine Drawing and CAD/CAM.
  • From 2009 to present teaching professor in Computational Structural Mechanics, Numerical Computing and Advanced Representation Techniques.

Research

Visiting Student in 1996 at the Universidade de Vigo (Spain) for 3 months. Visiting Scholar and Visiting Professor at MIT (USA) for 1 year between 1998-2001, working on tolerance and assembly design. This research activity was granted by FIAT.
In 2000 and 2001 main investigator of two "Young Researchers" projects by Italian MIUR. Member of research groups within PRIN, PON and POR projects from 2001 to 2009. Consulting activity in the PON Campania project "Digital Pattern" coordinated by FIAT (2012-2014). Responsible of the local research unit under EU-FP7 FoF-ICT-2011.7.4 3-year project (2012-2014) Digital Factories project "Remote Laser Welding System Navigator for Eco & Resilient Automotive Factories" (Collaborative STREP project). He collaborates also with international research centers such as Fraunhofer Institute in Chemnitz (D), SUPMECA in Paris (F) and WMG in Warwick (UK).
He is referee of international journals (IJAMT, IJIDeM, IJCAT) and has published about 60 papers in international journals and conferences.
ASME and ADM member.
The main research activities concern CAD/CAE modeling and analysis and programming, Assembly and Tolerancing Design involving both rigid and compliant parts, applications of RE, and Biomedical Engineering.
