ALESSIA MEGNA

Alessia Megna is a Ph.D. student in Technology, Innovation, and Management in the Department of Industrial Engineering at the University of Naples Federico II (UNINA) in partnership with the Department of Management, Information, and Production Engineering at the University of Bergamo (UNIBG). She is a member of the AURORA project ("sustAinable aUgmented pRoducts for spORts and sAfety"), part of the MICS (Made in Italy - Circular and Sustainable) Extended Partnership <https://www.mics.tech/>, and she is involved in R&D for the UNINA spin-off ETA Bioengineering. Her research focuses on developing a new design methodology for smart garments and soft exoskeletons. The main aspects of her research are the automatic calculation of anthropometric measures and the optimal placement of sensors starting from 3D scans, as well as the optimization of signal quality by controlling the design parameters of the garments. She has co-authored three scientific papers. She is the winner of the 2023 student project competition organized by the International Sports Engineering Association (ISEA) <https://www.sportsengineering.org/winners-of-the-2023-student-project-competition/>.
